Lá Fhéile Pádraig sona daoibh

Deep peace of the running wave to you

Deep peace of the flowing air to you

Deep peace of the quiet earth to you

Deep peace of the shining stars to you

Deep peace of the gentle night to you

Moon and stars pour their healing light on you.

Deep peace of Christ to you

Beneath it all there is much space for reflection and opportunities to learn, unlearn and heal.

St Patricks Day is most definitely a celebration that is as much about alcohol as it is about the Shamrock and Christianity. In a recent interview Gabor Mate ( one of the worlds leading Trauma and addiction experts spoke of this connection)

‘We’re talking about eighty years of foreign occupation, and sometimes brutal occupation and also, of course, civil war of a murderous kind, then the Potato Famine and the recent Troubles. And, of course, the longer story of the finally publicly acknowledged sexual abuse - and abuse in general - of children by religious authorities which are meant to represent God on earth. So the trauma and pain in Irish culture is immense. The resultant escape into alcoholism, which the Irish almost pride themselves on, is really a trauma response, a way of killing your pain,’ says Dr Mate.

On The Christianity and shamrock front this piece shared by the Redemptorist Community on the Feast of The Holy Trinity offers a refreshing and more balanced view and when I read it a few years ago I couldn't help but think how different things could/should have been.

There is of course lots more to explore it is believed by many that the snakes where a metaphor for the druids, others for the feminine, others for the gnostic Christians, with so much beneath the surface it may not be a surprise that alcohol is the "medicine" of choice to help us navigate all that is there.

We also get a chance to express our fun, playful light hearted faerie energy with leprechauns, craic, ceol agus rince(dance) and the world certainly needs more of that. Each of the fore mentioned have the potential to raise our vibration and energy frequency.

Ireland is often described as the Heart Chakra of the world, green is also the colour associated with with heart chakra and so my prayer today is that the green energy that is flowing across the world today may bring harmony, peace and healing to all hearts and in turn to our world. That the divine feminine will be returned to her rightful and equal place with the divine masculine and when this happens I believe we will have a peaceful and balanced world.

Gra, Solas agus Beannacht (love, light and blesisngs)
